Referral Diver: 2 Open Water Certification Dives 

Complete your open water certification in the beautiful waters of Aruba with our Referral Diver program! Here’s what you need to know:

Prerequisites:

  • Completed Classroom & Pool Sessions: These should be done with your initial instructor at home.
  • Logbook: Ensure your initial instructor fills out and signs your logbook for all completed training.

Course Overview:

  • Open Water Training Dives: The course includes 2 open water training dives, replicating the skills you practiced in the pool or confined water, now in the ocean. (O.W. #1 & 2) or (O.W. #3 & 4) According to Agency Standard & Procedures.
  • Equipment Provided: We provide tanks and weights. You should bring your mask, snorkel, and fins. If needed, you can use a mask, snorkel, and fins for free. Wetsuit shorties can be rented for $10.00 per person per day, and dive computers are FREE per person per day.

Course Costs:

  • Referral Open Water Course: $180.00 per person incl. 2 dives
  • Rental BCD & Regulator: $40.00 per person per day (if needed)
  • Wetsuit Rental: $10.00 per person (if needed)
  • Processing Certification PIC: $40.00 p/p (SDI/PADI)

Documentation:

  • Referral Forms/Training Log: Filled out and signed by your initial instructor.
  • Medical Clearance: If you have any medical issues, bring the original, filled-out, signed, and stamped physician’s clearance medical release form.

Schedule:

  • 1-Day Dive Plan:
    • Day 1: 9:00 am – 1:30 pm (2-tank boat dive, O.W. Training dives)
  • Note: The schedule is subject to change based on availability and weather.

Additional Requirements:

  • Certifying Agency Forms: If you are certified through another agency like SSI, NAUI, etc., bring your Global referral form. Our RSTC Certified Instructor will sign it after successful completion of your training dives according to standards & Procedures.
  • Skill Practice: Ensure your initial instructor covers compass use and dive computer operation.

Skills to be Practiced:

  • Entry and Exit
  • Compass navigation (surface swim and underwater, reciprocal course)
  • Mask clearing (partial and full removal, replacement, and clearing)
  • Regulator removal, recovery, and clearing (blow and purge method)
  • Equipment removal and replacement in the water (Scuba Unit) (surface)
  • CESA (controlled emergency swimming ascent with “Ahh” sound) (According to Agency Standard & Procedures)
  • Air Sharing ascent & BCD Oral inflation
  • Weight removal and replacement (surface)
  • Neutral Buoyancy
  • Rescue Skills
  • Cramp removal
  • Tired diver tow
  • Snorkel/regulator exchange
  • SMB Deployment
  • Safety Stop and Control ascent with a dive buddy. Etc. Etc.

What to Bring:

  • Towel, swimwear, ID (driver’s license), and a Visa or Mastercard credit card or cash.
  • Note: All dives are different each day, exploring the South Side of Aruba on reefs and wrecks.

Health & Safety:

  • Medical Considerations: Good physical and mental health are required. Review the medical conditions on the medical form and seek evaluation by a physician if needed.
